Project Objectives
• Use efficient luminaires that do not have a visual impact within the architectural set.
• Take advantage of daylight.
• Ensure an effective transition between natural and artificial light without the client noticing the change.
• Maintain general lighting at an average of 500 lux on the floor.
• Reduce maintenance costs.
Strategy:
• General lighting with 125-watt LED luminaires compared to 3 T5 tubes of 54 watts (186 watts per luminaire in T5).
• Sunoptics prismatic domes for daylight. Dimmable luminaires IBH 12000LM SD080 MD MVOLT were used.
• Track-type luminaires with LED bulbs for accents in areas such as fruit islands, flowers, and bakery.
• Automatic transition between daylight and artificial light, with schedule control through Grafik Eye and Lutron sensors.
Results:
The cost of a fluorescent system with halogen accents was simulated, maintaining 500 lux on the floor.
• The difference between the fully LED-installed load and the comparative fluorescent load represents a 47.6% savings, not including sensors and dimming.
• When including sensors and dimming, savings increase to 86%.
• Investment return in 3 years compared to a fluorescent system.
• Warranty for luminaires and LED bulbs: 5 years or 50,000 hours. Using a dimming system extends the LED's lifespan.
